WHO IS NOAH LYLES?

Noah Lyles has always been a force on the track. Growing up in Virginia alongside his brother Josephus, Noah quickly established himself as one of the best sprinters of his generation, dominating competitions locally and globally.

His rise began in 2014, when he claimed gold in the 200m at the Youth Olympic Games in China. A year later, he captured the US Junior Championship title and another gold at the Pan American Junior Championships. In 2016, Noah made history as a high school senior, running 20.09 in the 200m to set a national record and finish fourth at the US Olympic Trials, narrowly missing a spot on Team USA. Later that year, he secured double gold at the World U20 Championships in the 100m and 4x100m relay, launching his professional career with adidas.

Noah’s debut seasons were marked by major milestones, including his first US national title in the 300m (2017) and an undefeated 200m campaign in 2018, capped with a world-leading 19.65. His dominance earned him the Jesse Owens Award as the USA's top track and field athlete. In 2019, Noah reached new heights, clocking 19.50 in the 200m (the fourth-fastest time ever) and winning double gold at the World Championships in Doha in the 200m and 4x100m relay.

Through 2020 and 2021, Noah solidified his place as a global sprinting powerhouse. He dominated the 200m, won bronze at his first Olympic Games in Tokyo, and ran 19.52 at the Prefontaine Classic, the year’s fastest time. The following year, he rewrote the record books by running 19.31 to break Michael Johnson’s American record and secure his second world title.

In 2023, Noah made history in Budapest, sweeping gold in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay at the World Championships, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest sprinters ever. His versatility shone again in 2024 with standout performances indoors and a thrilling summer campaign that included winning the 100m at the Paris Olympics in a dramatic 9.79 finish and earning his third Olympic medal in the 200m.

Today, Noah Lyles stands as a global icon, an inspiration to athletes everywhere, and a living testament to perseverance and greatness.
